It’s Time to Be Real.

It’s about time that digital marketers learn how to be more real. Well, more real-time. Just like Darwin said, it’s not about being the biggest, or the smartest, it’s about responding fast.

Digital marketers are clamoring to leverage social media data and real-time marketing technologies to understand consumer attitudes and interests, but listening and responding on a traditional media cycle is too slow.

On the Big Screen: Surface Beats Retina

Both Apple and Microsoft made big product announcements within a few days of each other this month — Apple at its June 11 WWDC with the new MacBook Pro with Retina display, and Microsoft at its June 18 launch for the Surface tablet. There was big OS news, too, with iOS 6 and Windows Phone 8 — and with so much buzz in the air, it was hard to tell who was winning. But one start-up, Taykey, was busy keeping score.

NBA Playoff Teams’ Seasons in Social Media

The NBA’s lockout-shortened regular season has come to a close and the 2012 playoffs tip-off Saturday. It was a pretty remarkable season on the court — LeBron James’s statistical genius, Jeremy Lin‘s magical run and Blake Griffin’s thunderous dunks being just a few of many highlights.

But pro basketball had the Internet atwitter, too. Men and women — okay, mostly men — took to Facebook,Twitter, YouTube and other platforms to follow the action, offer opinions and debate which team looked most primed for a championship run, according to the infographic below.

Verizon iPhone – Before VS. After

Welcome to our newly launched blog!

At Taykey we develop algorithms that analyze user generated content across the web, to determine trends, before they happen. We also measure who talks about what, and what are the hot issues for specific demographics as they happen. We bring real-time insights on what’s hot for who, and where is your target audience’s attention is right now.

We decided to start this blog, to share interesting insights we find with our data. And as you probably know, the big news of the day is the announcement of the highly anticipated Verizon iPhone.

In this first post, we wanted to share with you, what was the world’s sentiment towards Verizon immediately after the announcement:

It’s interesting to learn, that most people are rather neutral towards the announcement, and there are more than enough people who are not enthusiastic about the upcoming launch.

We also learned that these are the topics talked about by people who talk about Verizon just now:

  1. iPhone
  2. Apple
  3. Android (volume of Android conversations went up +300%  just today)
  4. Facebook
  5. iPad
